THE RACE to build Mumbai's second airport has begun.
In the last 18 days 150 developers across the globe have downloaded the Request for Proposal document to develop the proposed Rs. 10,000-crore greenfield airport in Panvel.
Till September 18- the last date for downloading or purchasing the document -48 foreign and 102 Indian developers downloaded it, while one Indian developer purchased the document, City and Industrial development Corporation (CIDCO) official said.
Tata Realty and Infrastructure that has partnered Singapore's Changi Airport Intrernational, the GMR Group (currently developing the Delhi and Hyderabad airport), and Mukesh and Anil Ambani are said to be in the race to bid for the airport.
The bidders are required to submit their proposals in three sections- comprising qualification, technical and financial statements, according to the global tender notice.
